Russell, Manitoba.

Russell is a town of 1611 people at the
convergence of 3 major highways near the
Manitoba - Saskatchewan border. The community
is a regional centre that serves an extended area of over
13,000 people. We have a strong retail and industrial sector,
excellent medical facilities, and an unbeatable educational
system. If you are looking for a place to live, work, and raise
a family, you have found that place.

Our retail and industrial sectors are vibrant and growing. In the last 10 years
some 40 new businesses have stared in our town. We have also begun an ambitious
project to revitalize our down town core involving an upgrade of our sidewalks and improving
access to our many Main Street buildings. We are also updating the lighting on Main Street, and
improving our already famous Arches over Main Street.

Our medical facilities are second to none in rural Manitoba. with 4 doctors, a busy clinic, and an
excellent and expanding hospital, our citizens are served very well. The hospital was expanded to include
cancer care 10 years ago, and is currently being expanded to offer a 6 station hemo-dialysis unit.

Our education system can take your child from day care through grade 12 and beyond. Major Pratt School has
a strong working relationship with the Assiniboine Community College and offers several courses on a local level,
some even available to high school students for dual credits. This is a program usually only found in much larger communities!

We also offer an excellent quality of life. Our area is truly one of the most beautiful in the province, if not the country. With our excellent recreational facilities, a person can find something to keep them busy and healthy, no matter their age or abilities. The Russell Regional Multiplex project is well underway, and will offer first class facilities to all our area once completed in the summer of 2011. Asessippi Ski Area and Resort is located just 15 minutes north of us, right next to the Asessippi Provincial Park. The area also boosts many excellent fishing lakes including some of the best fly fishing in the world. Opportunities for all types of hunting, clean country air and beautiful scenery are at every turn. I hope you will come for a visit and enjoy what we have to offer.
